Man’s court waistcoat with a 2⅛-inch (5.3 cm) standing collar, straight fronts and skirts reaching to the hip. There is a pocket and pointed pocket flap on each front. The fronts, collar and pocket flaps are made of white silk satin; the back of linen. The waistcoat and pockets are lined with linen; the fronts are faced with white silk satin. The waistcoat is embroidered-to-shape with silk thread in white, green, brown and shades of pink and blue, in a pattern of flowers and leaves. There are 9 worked buttonholes along the left front edge with 10 embroidered buttons on the right front.

The 2 pairs of linen tape ties at the back were probably added later.
