This half length image shows a naked bearded man holding a rock in his right hand, the attribute of St. Jerome. He holds his head tilted towards his left, his mouth half-open. It seems that originally on one side of a now-lost representation of the Virgin and Child, with the other male saint on the other side.

Physical description | Relief, alabaster. The fragment shows the half-length figure of the Saint nude to the waist, in his right hand which is held across his chest, he holds a stone? and in his left there is a portion of drapery. The head with its long forked beard and hair curling at the sides and forelock looks downwards to the right. To the right is the leg of the baby Jesus. |
