This silver medal made by Christopher Adolfszoon in Amsterdam, 1667, celebrates the peace settlement after the second Anglo-Dutch war, 1665-1667. The obverse of this medal represents Victory holding a torch, a spear and a sheaf of darts. She sets her foot on a naked figure, behind which are a sheep and a lion. In the background is a castle, and two fleets of galleys. The reverse shows Peace holding a sword and cornucopia filled with fruit, with a crown, sword, and helmet at her feet. In the background a fleet of galleys. Above, shields, festoons of fruit, and a scroll inscribed.
