Gilian Little is one of the most respected and established textile maker working in the UK. Her innovative use of technique, in particular weaving, knitting and devoré, illustrates her consumate ability to explore the properties of texture. Little's work is inspired by organic matter and distressed architecture which is reflected in her subdued palette of grey, cream and beige.
Gilian Little studied woven textiles at West Surrey College of Art and Design in Farnham from 1987-1990, as well as the Royal College of Art. She established her own workshop in 1994 to concentrate on designing woven and knitted textiles sold for conversion to industrial production. Limited edition hangings and accessories are also sold through her own label.

Physical description | Rectangular length of natural coloured woven wool devoré. The fabric consists of patches of felted wool and areas where the underlying structure of the cloth has been revealed by the devoré technique. A short woollen fringe runs along the two longest sides of the fabric. |
