This oval cribbage board by Nathaniel Brown Engleheart (1790-1869), is made in ca. 1820-50 from turned and carved ivory and is decorated with elaborate designs of concentric circles and dots. The top of a raised boss in the centre unscrews and shows a box containing two turned markers for keeping scores in the card game of cribbage.
