This right breast and drapery fragment of a statue or bust in porphyry is probably 4th century Egypto-Roman. This fragment is similar in style to the bust of a man from Athribis in the Museum at Cairo.

Object history
Together with A.1-1925, bought by W.L. Hildburgh from a dealer near the Forum in Rome.
Upon acquisition, the fragment was stylistically linked to a bust of a man from Arthritis at Cairo Museum (inv. no. 7257; see departmental records).
