  • Casket with Domed Lid About 1866 Eusebio Zuloaga and his son Plácido were descendants of a Basque family of gunmakers and armourers. In 1851 Eusebio won a prize medal in the Great Exhibition in London, and in 1855 Plácido's work was praised in the Paris exhibition. This casket is designed in the 'Hispano-Moresque' style, which originated in the medieval period, when the Muslims occupied much of Spain. Spain, Eibar; designed and made by Eusebio Zuloaga or Plácido Zuloaga Steel, blued and damascened in gold and silver Bought from the Zuloaga family for £15 15s 7d(07/04/2017)
