Vase, fritware with decoration in coloured glazes. Ovoid body with small foot and long neck flaring out at the top. The decoration on the main body is divided into four sections, each with flowers surrounded by a blue background. In the corners of each section is a bird and above the panel in the middle is a bird flying. The neck has blue background with ornate panels of flowers on a manganese background.

Jameel Gallery 6–10 Bottles, Ewer and Vase Iran, Tehran 1880–8 These vessels were produced at the workshop of Ali Muhammad Isfahani in Tehran. Ali Muhammad was the leading art potter there from the 1880s. He revived the use of fritware, the white composite body used in the great historical ceramics of Iran. The forms of these pieces imitate older objects, but their decoration follows contemporary taste. Fritware painted under the glaze.
