Ink stand and pounce pot, the ink pot missing, of earthenware with manganes-purple and green glazes. The base of the stand is squared with bowed front, supported on four small feet. Teh back is in the form of a seat and desk with a gallery pierced with rosettes in openwork on either side. At the desk is the figure of a man seated writing, in costume of the period, his coat being green, his breeches and hose, as is the the rest of the inkstand, purple. On either side of him are openings for the ink pot and pounce pot, the latter alone being of nearly cylindrical form. A loop handle rises from either side of the rim of the stand.
