Anthony Powell, a theatrical designer, owned this suit. He never wore it as an ensemble but alternated either the trousers or jacket with another almost identical suit of beige cotton. That other suit was also made by Yves St Laurent. Mr Powell found that worn with a T-shirt or polo-neck sweater, this combination suited almost every occasion.
