Jar of grey earthenware, red on the surface where exposed, with applied decoration modelled in relief in red and grey clay, covered with a yellow glaze stained in places with green. The jar is nearly cylindrical with expanding top and one horizontal loop handle under the rim. On the front is a rudely modelled figure of a dog amongst leaves.

Brief description
Jug of red earthenware covered with a white slip and with applied decoration. Painted with copper and iron oxides and covered with a yellowish lead glaze. Found in Paris. French, 16th or 17th century.

Jar of grey earthenware, red on the surface where exposed, with applied decoration modelled in relief in red and grey clay, covered with a yellow glaze stained in places with green. The jar is nearly cylindrical with expanding top and one horizontal loop handle under the rim. On the front is a rudely modelled figure of a dog amongst leaves.
