Vessel Fragment

8th/9th century

Fragments of a two-handled vessel, coarse yellow alluvial clay body, wheel-thrown, of baluster shape, with ribbed shoulders and a prominent lip rim, the shoulders applied with two loop handles, on a reconstructed tall straight-sided foot. Covered in thick, uneven bluish-green glaze, thinning at the rim, full of inclusions and having irridized in places. Large fragments bonded, but large section missing from the lip.

Fragments of a two-handled vessel, coarse yellow alluvial clay body, wheel-thrown, of baluster shape, with ribbed shoulders and a prominent lip rim, the shoulders applied with two loop handles, on a reconstructed tall straight-sided foot.
