Dish Fragment

Fragment from the base of a dish with partial footrim, fritware or stonepaste siliceous body, covered with white slip and painted in cobalt blue with an interlaced pattern, the interstices filled in with striations forming wave patterns or hatched grounds, within line bands at the rim and glazed. The technique inspired by Chinese porcelain painted in cobalt blue under the glaze. The exterior also glazed with traces of cobalt.
