Lampworked figure of a soldier of coloured glass with aventurine inclusions. The figure is in a flying pose with both arms raised. He wears an elaborately crested helmet of blue and gold helmet with yellow feathers, and a Roman tunic in blue and gold with a sword at his waist, and he wear blue knee boots .His skin is of white glass and he has a large curled black moustache.

Lampworked figure of a soldier of coloured glass with aventurine inclusions. The figure is in a flying pose with both arms raised. He wears an elaborately crested helmet of blue and gold helmet with yellow feathers, and a Roman tunic in blue and gold with a sword at his waist, and he wear blue knee boots .His skin is of white glass and he has a large curled black moustache.

Object history
Said by the donor to be from a religious tableau, along with C.208-1993 & C.209-1993. The scene was probably a crucification scene in view of the soldiers' armour and the presence of Mary Magdalene (C.209-1993).
In view of the use of aventurine they are perhaps more likely to be Venetian rather than French.
