Semi-ovoid body with flat shoulder, and low neck of concave profile. The vase stands on a square pedestal base. Painted on one side with a rendering of Leda and the Swan in tones of blue and manganese-purple with a plant in yellow and bluish-green to the right. On the other side, Venus and Cupid, the latter carrying a sheaf of what appears to be corn. All painted in the same colours. Between these two representations, a town in the distance is painted. The base of the vase is painted with simulated fluting, and the square plinth is marbled.

Vase of buff earthenware covered with a tin glaze and painted in colorus. Probably German, dated 1823.
