Oval plaque of white Jasper ware with black dip and white applied bas-relief. The scene depicts a cherubic naked young Bacchus with his attributes of a wreath of vine-leaves and grapes on his head, and holding a wand tipped with a pine-cone (a thrysus). Two wingless cherubs stand either side raising him aloft in a sitting position. He holds a bunch of grapes on the head of the right hand cherub. Fallen vine-leaves, grapes and a flowering plant are detailed along the ground at their feet.
