Figure in porcelain painted with enamels and gilded of a Turkish man seated smoking a hookah. He wears a white turban round a red fez, a long pink cloak spotted with purple, trimmed with ermine and lined with blue. Gilt underclothing appears beneath it and round his waist is a wine-coloured sash supporting a yellow kirtle. He wears baggy trousers striped with white, blue and gold, and caught in at the ankle by a gold bangle. At his feet are red shoes with turned-up toes. He is sitting with crossed legs on a square cushion and smoking a hookah which stands on the corner of the cushion on his left. The cushion is set upon a high square gilt-edged pedestal with four scrolled feet rising into gilt masks.
