On the front is an oval panel with a formal gilt border painted with an allegorical figure seated in a landscape playing a harp and pipes, representing Poetry. Festoons of gilt foliage hang from the rim.

Poetry is after a painting by Angelica Kauffmann, of which an engraving by F. Bartolozzi was published in 1781.
