Dish of white earthenware, with moulded decoration, coloured and glazed. Circular dish on raised foot; moulded in the middle with infant bacchanals playing with grapes and a lion, among ruins. A border of marquerites on stalks with symmetrical leaves, alternating with acanthus leaf motives; indented edge. Coloured in purplish brown, yellow, green, blue and grey, with part of the design left white. The reverse is mottled except under the foot, which is covered with a yellow glaze.

Object history | At time of acquisition, this dish was thought to have been made by Bernard Palissy or his School and dated to the second half of the 16th century. Subsequently dated to the late 16th century. |
