Cup and saucer of hard-paste porcelain. Relief-moulded in panels alternately plain and with Gotzkowsky erhabene Blumen. J-handle. Painted in enamel colours and gilt with the Imperial arms of Russia on the cup and the cross of the Order of St. Andrew on the saucer; spray of Manierblumen in poor colours. A firing crack in each rim and a discoloured spot inside cup. Cup lip unglazed.

Object history
From a service made for the Empress Elizabeth Petrovna of Russia.

The defective nature of the pieces, poor colours and lack of gilding indicate the porcelain (perhaps ca. 1745-50) was decorated much later outside the factory.
Production
Attribution from the manuscript catalogue dates from about 1970 and was compiled by William Hutton of the Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio.
