Physical description

Sugar box and cover of hard-paste porcelain. Oval, with domed cover. The cover with a border of interlacing bandwork in gold enclosing a chinoiserie figure subject; the box painted with two similar scenes within shaped oval cartouches bordered with foliate bandwork in gold, iron red and purple; the box also with sprays of "India flowers".
