Cast with the arms of Charles Paulett who succeeded as sixth Marquis of Winchester in 1675 and was created 1st Duke of Bolton in 1689. It is said to have come from Grange Farm, built in the late 17th century, which stands within the grounds of Basing House (near Basingstoke, Hampshire).
