Pair of wrought iron mace stands, the decoration in the form of leaves, flowers and heads of birds, surmounted by a floral finial. There is a socket at the bottom and hinged loop in the middle of each stand to support the mace.

MACE-STAND Wrought iron England (Newcastle-under-Lyme); late 17th century 646-1894 From the Corporation Pew in the parish church at Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Decorated with leaves flowers and heads of birds, and surmounted by a floral finial. Each stand has a socket at the bottom and a hinged loop in the middle to support the mace.(07/1994)
