From Barham Court, Kent. Inscribed 'TP 1637' and decorated with a buckle, the badge of the earls of Chichester. The initials are presumably those of Thomas Pelham, 2nd baronet, who died in 1664. The firedogs' link to Barham Court is unclear, since the Pelhams were a Sussex family.
