The glass engravers of Nuremberg had an international reputation for creating the finest engraved goblets. They used tall goblets with ornamental stems that were specially created for their work. This example is engraved with the royal arms of Sweden and must have been a presentation piece for, or from, the Swedish king. Originally it might have had a cover.
