Inn sign made of wrought iron for the Angel Inn, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The sign is self-supporting and features scrolls and leaves on the bracket.

INN SIGN Wrought iron England; c.1700 From the Angel Inn, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The scrolls and leaves of the bracket are typical of early 18th-century ironwork. This example is self-supporting, but inn signs were often suspended from buildings by means of highly ornamental stays and braces. Museum No. M.53-1930(07/1994)
