- Triptych or Retable. Gilt metal of repoussé or beaten work. In the centre is a glazed reliquary intended to contain two portions of the True Cross, and set with gems; on either side of this is an angel in high relief, over which are two angels in champlevé enamel; above all are half figures of our Saviour and of two angels with trumpets; at the foot is a plaque of champlevé enamel, representing the holy women at the sepulchre, and set with an engraved crystal and other gems; in either wing are three gilt metal plaques, each containing figures of two Apostles, two subjects only, each occurring three times; the wings surrounded with a band of cloisonné enamel. German. 12th centy. H. 1 ft. 10¾ in., W. when open, 2 ft. 1 in. Bought (Soltikoff Colln.) 342l. 7947-1862

Copper gilt, enriched with stamped reliefs and plaques of champleve enamel and with details in filigree on a foundation of oak.
At the top, Christ in Majesty' In the centre, a glazed receptacle containing the relics with angels at the sides holding instruments of Passion, angels of Mercy and Justice above and a plaque with the Crucifixion; below, symbols of the Four Evangelists. At the bottom, the visit of the holy women to the Sepulchre and a large 9th century crystal engraved with the Crucifixion, set in filigree. On the wings, the Twelve Apostles.
