FIRE IRONS Wrought steel England; c.1910 Designed by Ernest Gimson (1864-1919) and made by the Daneway House Workshops Trained as an architect but working chiefly in the field of decorative arts, Gimson was heavily influenced by the designer William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement of the late 19th century. These examples of his work show the contemporary enthusism for folk and 'domestic' art. The group comprises of a stand, poker, log hook, fork, tongs and brush. Museum No. Circ.120-f-1960(07/1994)
