Work box veneered with ebony and inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The borders are decorated with foliage patterns and the the centre of the top and key plate are inlaid in a similar style. The interior is lined with blue silk and contains a tray divided into partitions and fitted with reels, needle cakes, winders etc., ornamented with mother-of-pearl, with ten ivory bobbins ornamented with beads, a tambour hook, tape measure
