Place of origin

Detached front from a chest. Two rectangular plain panels (possibly of burr wood) framed with a deep guilloche mouldng, with three projecting panels in the centre and both ends, each of which contains a bearded male mask with scrolling cap, within a moulded border with bead and reel ornament.
The front is constructed of a single wide walnut board to which other carved walnut elements are nailed. Along the top, behind, is the original mitred top rail of the chest (also walnut).
