Patchwork bed cover quilt of printed cotton. Of the 'Framed' patchwork design. The quilt has a plain white cotton centre with one small central and four corner sprigs of appliqué printed cotton of floral design. The central square is 'framed' with a band of printed cotton with a floral design in blue, pink and white on a brown vermicular ground. The design radiates out from this stripe with a band of triangles of printed cottons (doubled at the corners), a stripe of printed cotton in blue and white stripes with a small brown motif, and a further band of triangles (reversed). A further plain stripe of two different patterned cottons (a red and white pattern up each side with a floral design, as used in the central appliques, top and bottom) is surrounded by a line of printed cotton squares. Two broad border bands, in brown and white, and red and white, patterned cottons surround this. There are corner squares of contrasting pink patterned cotton and in the top squares printers marks can be seen. One shows an export duty stamp, the other shows the royal monogram for GR below a crown and 'BRITISH MANUFACTORY'.
