Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Bed hangings of linen and cotton, consisting of three curtains, valance and two tie-backs, woven to shape in fustian brocaded in coloured wools with flower sprigs and floral borders in fresh bright colours.

The floral style of the detached sprigs and large borders resembles that of the mid 18th century, but the narrow borders around are much closer to the newer New-Classicism of the 1770s.

Technical details: Drawloom woven, tabby ground, the pattern bound in 3\1 twill by every 3rd wrap thread, decoupure 2, several widths of fabric are woven to shape to complete the design.
