End piece of printed cotton. With stamps in bright blue.
From top to bottom the arrangement if as follows:
1. Border of blue dashes within blue cords.
2. a) Stamp printed sideways. b) Crested shield bearing a sprouting tree stump before which is an anchor. Sprays of oak below the shield. To either side are the words 'PRIVATE / MARK'. c) '1500' printed with bars of blue and below is 'PRIVATE STAMP'. d) as (b). e) Triangle containing the words of the maker.
3. Three large stamps consisting of a medallion containing the tree stump and anchor, and the words 'TRADE MARK', and the motto 'VIRESCO', the medallion is surrounded by a band of mock-Arabic script surrounded by a belt bearing the words 'JULIUS LIEPMANN & CO. MANCHESTER', surrounded by a wreath of oak.
4. A rectangular stamp and the length of the piece as 42 yards.
