Polychrome silk embroidery in satin, stem, long and short, ladder, and buttonhole stitches on linen. The middle has an all-over repeating pattern of small lobed compartments, each containing a carnation plant, surrounded by symmetrical interlacing leafy stems bearing carnations and other flowers. Small birds are perched upon the stems. There is a broad border of wavy rose and carnation stems between two narrow bands of leafy spirals, a yellow silk fringe, and four large tassels.
