Pair of chair seat panels of embroidered linen canvas worked in coloured wools and silks in canvas stitches.

One chair seat represents autumn (T.1). The design represents a cartouche in the centre of which is part of a Spanish-style villa against the sea and sky, foliage, stone masonry, grapes and sliced melon. The scene is surrounded by abstract foliage. The seat is padded and nailed to a wooden seat frame, reinforced on the underside by canvas and webbing.

The other chair seat represents summer (T.1A). The design represents a cartouche in the centre of which is a shell and weeds against a watery background.
