Band of brown silk taffeta, woodblock printed, and "silvered". At one end is a narrow strip of silk Italian lampas, possibly dating from the second half of the 14th century. Five red silk tassels are hanging from the same end. The printed decoration consists of wavy, leafy, parallel stems with characteristically shaped pomegranates and pines, the sort of which is often found on the luxurios Italian (mainly Florentine) velvets from the same period.

Light, monochrome (brown) silk taffeta is decorated after weaving by woodblock printing. The printing matter has a characteristic, silvery glow, hence the term "silvered", that appears in the old records of the textile.
