Physical description

Silk bodice and skirt with a woven pattern in pseudo 'Persian' style of vertical stripes of red, black and blue, each having varicoloured floral trails.
[Jacket bodice] Silk Bodice with a woven pattern in pseudo 'Persian' style of vertical stripes of red, black and blue, each having varicoloured floral trails. It is waist length with a rounded point at the centre front and back with a draped and pleated front trimmed with sage green velvet. The velvet is also used to form the high band collar and vest. The sleeves are 'puffed' at the upper arm and tight from elbow to wrist, where they have a green velvet cuff facing. The bodice is lined with white holland, faced with silk and boned. It fastens with black metal hooks and eyes.
[Skirt] Silk skirt with a woven pattern in pseudo 'Persian' style of vertical stripes of red, black and blue, each having varicoloured floral trails. It is straight cut with a front drape of self material with tasselled ends caught with a made up bow on the right hip, and a trained back. The hem and drape are edged with a pleated trim. It fastens at the back with brass metal hooks and eyes. It is lined with cream poplin and is bound with silk. There are silk ribbon ties inside the train for adjustment.
