This limewood statuette, made in Upper Palatinate or Lower Bavaria in about 1510-1520, represents St. Anne and the Virgin. It is carved from two blocks, and it is highly likely that a figure of the Christ Child, now lost, was seated on the cushion.

Physical description
Limewood statuette of St. Anne with the Virgin. St. Anne is seated on a bench, her head slightly inclined to the Virgin, her left hand rests on the Virgin's shoulder and with her right hand she turns the pages of an open book on a cushion on her left knee. The Virgin stands at St. Anne's knee, reaching with outstretched arms towards the book, her head turned to the onlooker.
