This statuette representing Bacchus was made by Jan Baptist Xavery (1697-1742) in North Netherlands, 1729. This is covered with gilding in two colours, a yellow gold for the body and a whitish gold for the drapery and ewer. Base and tree stump are painted black.

| Physical description | Statuette in limewood representing Bacchus standing with right lef slightly advanced and bent at the knee. He raised a cup in his left hand and holds in his right an ewer which rests, lip downwards on a tree stump. his head is adorned with grapes and vine leaves. He is naked save for drapery which hangs over the left shoulder, across the back, round the loins and fails to the ground behind the left leg. |
