Brief description | Pax Christ in the Sepulchre, bronze gilt. Italian 2nd half of the 16th century. |
Physical description | Gilt bronze pax, Christ in the Sepulchre. The half length figure of Christ rises from the tomb; the head inclined to the left, the arms crossed. Across the back is stretched a curtain; the front of the sarcophagus is draped. Bordered on either side by pilasters and surmounted by a semi-circular arch of fruit and flowers enclosing a mask. |
