Plaquette the Birth of Venus, bronze Italian early 16th century.
Physical description
Plaquette in bronze depicting the Birth of Venus. The godness is standing on a shell in the sea, holding a veil behind her. On either side of her a putto mounted on a dolphin. There is a narrow raised rim and plain loop at top.
