This silver medal is one a number of partisan medals issued by the Elder Pretender. The obverse shows James III in profile while the reverse depicts Britannia weeping by the banks of the Thames while in the foreground a horse, representative of the House of Hanover, tramples on the lion and unicorn. In the background the city of London with St Paul's Cathedral and London Bridge in represented.
