The depicted Andrea Caraffa (d. 1526) was Count of Santa Severina and became Viceroy of Naples in 1525.

Physical description

Medal depicts on the obverse bust to left of Caraffa, in armour, wearing a helmet of classical shape. Inscription.
On the reverse a woman seated, facing left, in her left hand a serpent, and in her right a double-faced mask on a handle. Inscription.
