This medal was issued to celebrate the Centenary of the Foundation of the Argentinian Republic. It was made by Hippolyte-Jules Lefebvre in France in 1910.
Lefebvre exhibited a version of this medal at the International Exhibition in Brussels in 1910, which was the first international exhibition which devoted a separate section to medals.

Physical description | Obverse: Two standing female figures wearing classical drapery stand in a landscape. One holds an olive branch, the other a cornucopia. They face the seated figure of Marianne, symbol of the French Republic, whose left hand indicates a plaque with the Roman numerals LXX. In the exergue inscription. Reverse: Naked female figure, representing Argentina liberated and armed, runs to the left holding up broken chains. There is a rising sun in the background. Inscription. |
