This medal depicting Russell Francis, the 5th Duke of Bedford is made by John Gregory Hancock.
Francis (1765-1802) was a friend of the Prince of Wales and a noted agriculturalist. At the time of his death he was President of the Bath and West Agricultural Society.
Hancock (ca. 1750 - 1805) was a medallist and die-sinker, renowned as skilled engraver of tokens.
