This bust in marble and bronze was made in the second half of the 18th century Rome. This bust represents the Emperor Caracalla and it depends from the Farnese bust of Caracalla in Museo Nazionale, Naples, of which versions also exist in the Vatican Museum.

Bust, Emperor Caracalla, marble and bronze Italian 2nd half of 18th century.
Physical description
Bust of Caracalla in marble with drapery and cuirass in bronze. Caracalla is shown in three-quarter face looking to his left, with short curling hair and beard and a small moustache. The drapery is disposed over the cuirass, and is fastened on his left shoulder with a jewelled brooch.
