This marble bust and its accompanying one (Mus. No. 7528-1861) are representing muses and both originated from Palazzo Bernini in Rome. They are made by an unknown sculptor in Rome in the 18th century.

Physical description
The bust represents a female figure in half-length with the arms cut above the elbows, wearing a loose cloak over a robe with a square patterned neck. Her head is turned to her right. On her hair, which is parted in the centre, she wears a wreath of foliage and berries.

Object history
From the Palazzo Bernini in Rome (together with 7528-1861). They are of rather poor quality. The two busts have been bought from the dealer Luchetti, who procured them from the Palazzo.
