This bronze medal commeorates the London International Exhibition 1874 and is made by the medallist J.E. Boehm and George T. Morgan. This medal was presented to George Gammon Adams for a marble statuette of Ruth which was exhibited in the Section Sculpture British and Foreign, Class Ii (£200).

The exhibition opened on 6 April 1874 in the International Exhibition buildings, South Kensington. Many varied works were exhibited including books and leather work, silks and a large exhibition of pictures.
