This bronze medal shows Pope Benedict XIII, to the right, wearing the berrettino, the mozzetto on his shoulders and an embroidered stole. On the reverse side St Dominic is represented in glory with angels, a segment of the world beneath and a dog couchant with a lighted torch in its mouth, the emblem of the Dominicans. This imahe celebrates the Dominican order, of which Clement, became a member at the age of eighteen.
Benedict XIII was Pope from 1724 until his death in 1730.
