This silver plated medal depicts Pope Pius VII, to the left, wearing the berrettino, the mozzetto on the shoulders and an embroidered stole. On the reverse side a dove is shown with an olive branch in a halo of rays.

This medal was made to celebrate the release of Pius VII from captivity in 1814. He had been imprisoned by Napoleon.
